The second largest religious group in India after the Hindu's are the Muslims, who practice Islam. You also underestimated the number of Hindu's in India at 67 million. However the Ottomans usually did NOT refer to the city as Constantinople. Byzantium was the name of the ancient Greek city in the location of present day Istanbul. The name changed from Byzantium to Constantinople in the early days of the Byzantine Empire, in the early 400's AD. In the mid 1400's after the Ottoman Turks took over, the Ottomans officially refered to the city as Istanbul.
